The Pomona Community Action for Peace is a Trauma Prevention Initiative-funded strategy. The Trauma Prevention Initiative is a comprehensive, place-based model for violence prevention and intervention that invests in community driven safety solutions, including peer outreach models and community leadership.
The Initiative was first implemented by the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health, Office of Violence Prevention (OVP), in South Los Angeles communities in 2016. OVP is partnering with community members and stakeholders to implement evidence-based violence prevention and intervention strategies and tailor them to the unique needs of each community.
