Compassionate Pomona
Pomona officially became a Compassionate City under the Charter for Compassion's global program on April 2, 2018 after studying Compassion, the Compassionate City Movement for over 2 years, and talking with City and PUSD Officials. We work to lift the consciousness of all into Compassionate thinking and actions, realizing our sacred interconnectedness. We are a collaboration of anchor institutions like the City, PUSD, TriCity Mental Health, nonprofit agencies, faith centers, coalitions, and individuals working together to know and support each other's initiatives and to create our own. Some of our current initiatives are our Annual Kindness Carnival & Character Champion Kids and Art Projects. Past initiatives were monthly Conversations with Pomona Police, and our Restorative Practices Initiative.
